Well, I've been wanting to do this for a while. Here is a list of the top ten worst songs of all time. So far. I'm open to comments and suggestions, and I'm always willing to argue! If you change my mind, I'll probably make a new list. So... here we go.

10. If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out -- Cat Stevens: Well, this song was good. Until it hit commercials. It's dead for me, now. Sorry.

9. You Belong With Me -- Taylor Swift: FAIL!!!!!!!! FAIL FAIL FAIL!!!!!!!!!

8. Have A Cuppa Tea -- The Kinks: The only good thing about this song is that it annoys the heck out of Allie Moyes (memorize the lyrics and sing them to her, got that?).

7. Hello, I Love You -- The Doors: This song is so obviously a knock off of the Kink's "All Day and All of the Night", it's not even funny. It's pathetic.

6. Crush -- David Archuleta: I hope I don't actually have to explain that one.

I think I'm going to have to do a bit of revising due to some problems with characters in the comics. However, I have no idea what to do after I finish Episode 10!

People are always asking if they can be in the comic, but I dunno a storyline!

(Note: more comics won't be posted for a while due to the fact that my computer decided to crash.)

So, help me on this.

What should happen in Series 2? I was thinking that Hammurabi should deal with serious issues like friendship and death. Then I recovered my sanity (somewhat. You have to be partially mad to write this comic).

ANYWAY, I just wanted to inform you guys of the status of Hammurabi's Rain.

Right now, I have a lot of projects for school, but in between I hope to final draft Episode 8 for you guys, scan in Episode 7, and write and final draft Episode 9. It will be a lot of work, but I think I might be able to manage. Hopefully this will all be done before we go back to school. So.

That's all.

Oh, and also, the contest for Hammurabi's second cousin has been canceled. I don't think any of you actually care.

I get bored a lot, and so now I have nothing better to do with my life than read your comic! And design a bunch of people who could possibly be your third cousin! What should I do? And how can I get your creator to post the rest of the episodes? Help!

Dear New Hammurabi Fan,

Well, I see your dilemma. I AM incredibly amazing. And I appreciate your enthusiasm.

But we all know that there are better things to do with your life.

So the main problem is, what are those better things?

Well, first I would suggest making a list of some things/goals that you would like to achieve. My Creator tells me that she thought you were writing a book, so maybe that that would be worthy of pursuing. Other things to put on your list might be reading a book that you really want to read, inviting a friend over, or working on a math project that's due on Wednesday. *cough, says my creator*.

Anna also says that she apologizes for not posting episodes, and says that she will soon.

My main point is, GO FIND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO WITH YOUR LIFE!!!

No pressure.

The Invention of Zero

Hey, guys, I had to do this for a Language Arts project-thingy. It's about how zero was invented and its importance in our world today...hurray and all that.

Okay, so before I start in on how zero was invented, I kind of have to go over how people got along WITHOUT it. Seriously, imagine not knowing the concept of zero. Think about it....

You are some MESOPOTAMIAN (hurray, Hammurabi!) person who is sitting around in your moose skins and pondering over this big stone rock thing your friend sent you. It's supposed to be your birthday present. Your friend is telling you that it is a cheque. He tells you to go deposit it at your local bank. So you do. EXCEPT...

The cheque has the number 23 on it. So your bank gives you 23....whatever those weird Mesopotamian people paid with. So you walk home all happy with your money, hurray....

UNTIL YOUR FRIEND ASKS YOU HOW YOU SPENT YOUR 2300 Mesopotamian objects that you pay with!

"What the heck?!" you say. "I only got 23 Mesopotamian currency items!"

And your friend just shrugs and says, "Too bad zero hasn't been invented yet." Because your friend is PSYCHIC and knows that zero will be invented in AD 650!!!! AAAAAAAH!!! So you sue your bank and you get ALL their money and they go bankrupt and everyone has to keep their money under their mattresses and then someone's goat comes along and eats all the money because he's hungry. And then we all blame Bush! (My psychiatrist is telling me to take deep breaths.)

Well, that was certainly an odd story. So you see why not having a zero to hold something's place could be a bit of an issue. I guess you could say people got along fine without it, as long as they paid attention to the context in which the number was used.

Zero as a number (you know, the number between -1 and 1) was also ignored until AD 650. (Technically, the empty place-holder was invented before, but now they were used as the same concept, which really ties them together.)

So now we'll talk about the actual invention, instead of me going off on random rants.

As I said (kind of) before, AD 650 was when zero as a number and zero as an empty placeholder were recognized as sort of the same thing.

After the Indians did that in 65o, there were some IMPORTANT CHANGES!!! HURRAY!!!!

Communication was better. Instead of misinterpretations/confusions of numbers like 45 and 405, people didn't face that problem! They could just write a little circle! CIRCLES ARE FUN! And, by the way, the zero symbol of the Indians in 650 looked very close to our symbol. Very close. Very. Close. Ooooh...scary.

Education was better I guess... so now teachers could teach with big huge numbers like 780,000,000,000,000 and not have their students accidentally writing 78. And failing and ending up working at McHammurabi's or dying early or whatever uneducated people did. Another one of my rants. I apologize. All I'm really trying to say is that now mathematicians and teachers and students could work on math problems. Take Quadratic equations, for instance. Without zero, the only way to find x-intercepts would be to graph the number EVERY SINGLE TIME! Fun.

Government changed: The government could now number laws differently and more efficiently. It also allowed for generalization numbers, like death tolls or polls or people who are for Obama. For instance, now we could say that over 1,000,000 people think that the writer of this blog is an amazing person, instead of just guessing. Because you can't really have that many tally marks. Seriously. You'd get carpal tunnel.

And now we FINALLY move on to zero today.

SO YOU WERE WRONG!!! AND SO WERE ALL THOSE MANUFACTURERS THAT MADE THOSE LITTLE GLASS THINGYS THAT ALL THOSE PEOPLE BOUGHT AND PUT IN THEIR CHINA CABINETS!!!! AAAAAAAAAH!

And that concludes my amazingly long post about the importance of zero.

Well, it wasn't THAT long, but oh, well. Too bad you lost all your money to that goat. Better hurry and get to the stock market before the goat.

Well, once my Hammurabi animation begins, the first thing I want to create is a Hammurabi theme song.

As in, a theme song that everyone must know!!!

P.S. The contest for Hammurabi's Third Cousin is still happening, all you un-artistically inspired people. Hammurabi would really like to have a third cousin...but if he doesn't, you are the only ones to blame. For those of you who haven't heard, if you draw a picture of Hammurabi's third cousin and submit him in the contest, then you could win a number of Hammurabi prizes, and the character will be included in an upcoming Episode. (Most probably Episode 9, 10, or 1 in Series 2.)

Dear Crazy Blonde Chick,

I see your dilemma. Having failed every class in school at least ten times, I know how you feel. Summers are never quite long enough.

Here are some tips to make your summer longer...

Build a time machine and travel anywhere and go wherever you want, and just pop back in for school before you start to look too old.
Make a list of stuff to do when you are completely and totally bored (I really need to do this, since in every episode I announce that I'm bored at least once. I think.)
Plan something really cool to celebrate the end of summer, (or, you could say, ex-celebrate it). That way, you'll ALMOST kind of look forward to the summer.
Don't sleep in TOO late every day... this really will give you more time during summer. (TOO late is sleeping past 1:00, which my creator sometimes does and then wakes up all grumpy and un-inspired.)
Keep a diary during summer and read it at the end of your summer, then read it all during the school year to "keep the summer alive".

Dear Me,

Well. First I must point out how insulted I am when you say my advice won't be useful.

Now, back to the point.

In my opinion, I say that you should go buy mind-control teacher name tags. Then, while your teacher isn't looking, you should switch their name tag with the mind-control one. Then make them advise that you get a completely new schedule, with all the same classes as your best friends.

Or you could just deal with the fact that you won't be seeing your friend in class. As a really annoying parent would say, "It'll give you a chance to make new friends."
Of, course, what do your parents know. All of us teens know that they don't REALLY remember what it is like to be a middle-schooler (especially because they were teenagers in the 20th century. THAT'S A DIFFERENT MILLENNIUM!!!! By the way, if you were wondering, I remember every moment of my 1000 year life as if it was a second ago.) You're still going to see your friend at lunch, and this time they won't be able to tell all the jokes about your teachers. You'll be able to tell THEM about the ugly shoes your teacher was wearing. Hooray!!

Hammurabi is walking down the street when he comes across a lawyer with a smoking car...

"Waaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........my caaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr!" the lawyer is whining. Hammurabi walks up to him.

"You lawyers are so obsessed with material objects, you didn't even notice that your left arm is missing!" Hammurabi exclaims. The lawyer looks down where his arm should be and says,

"Oh, crap! Where's my Rolex!"

Still considering as a piece....most probably it will be in the comic, though.

HAMMURABI'S BLOG IS NOW IN BUSINESS!!!!

This blog is devoted to Hammurabi and all his funniness (for all you people out there who don't have the faintest idea what I'm talking about, Hammurabi is a comic about a not-so-smart raincloud.)
